As I sit down to reflect on the rollercoaster that was 2023, I am overwhelmed with gratitude, vulnerability, and a newfound sense of liberation. This year has been a journey of self-discovery, personal Growth, and breaking free from the chains of judgment, self-criticism, and the fear of others’ opinions.
So, here’s my story – the wins, the setbacks, and what’s next in the grand adventure of life.
I share these stories not to impress anyone but to demonstrate that everyone has something to be grateful for in 2024. If you had a rough year, you’re not alone.
Wins: Just a few achievements that I am proud of and wanted to share.
1. Family Bonds:
One of the greatest triumphs of 2023 was the time spent with my family. Celebrating seven years of marriage with my amazing wife, Michele, was a highlight. Traveling together, visiting friends in my hometown of New York, and becoming closer to my stepsons created a tapestry of unforgettable memories.
2. Meaningful Connections:
Meeting mentors I had admired from afar, building strong friendships with like-minded individuals, and valuing their life advice have been a game-changer. These connections have fueled my personal and professional Growth in ways I never thought possible.
3. Intellectual Transformations:
Books have always been my companions on this journey. In 2023, “You Owe You” by ET Eric Thomas altered the trajectory of my thinking forever. Sharing these insights, I had the privilege of speaking at my college, addressing students on mindset and overcoming obstacles.
4. Empowered:
The culmination of 36 months and 28 years of personal development resulted in Empowered, my online coaching program. This is not just a program; it’s a manifestation of dedication, research, and the unwavering belief that mindset is the key to empowerment.
Setbacks: I learn from my setbacks because I accept them as necessary for my growth.
1. Mental Health Challenges:
2. Relationship Struggles:
Conflicts with my wife brought us to a crossroads. Seeking professional assistance allowed us to gain clarity and find solutions, proving that Growth often comes through challenges.
3. Political Tensions:
Accepting that people hold diverse political opinions was a harsh lesson. Learning to walk away from heated discussions before they escalated became crucial for my mental well-being.
What’s Next: My favorite part of the framework is the New Actions and Goals.
1. Empowering the Future:
In 2024, I aim to enroll 100 students into the Empowered coaching program, touching lives and transforming mindsets. The launch of ETU, a two-day LIVE immersion event for struggling teens, is a testament to my commitment to empowering the next generation.
EMPOWERED: Enhancing Mindset| Personal Growth | Optimizing Well-being | Emotional Resilience | Empowering Dreams
2. Connecting with Thought Leaders:
Collaborating with mission-driven thought leaders who focus on creating life-changing outcomes for teens is on my agenda. We can inspire thousands of parents and teens through content, courses, and coaching programs.
3. Podcast Launch: Podcast Name TBA…
My podcast, set to launch in 2024, aims to reach tens of thousands of parents whose children suffer in silence. Traditional methods might fall short, but we can provide the help and support they require through alternative means.
My podcast will feature authors, mental health professionals, teens, parents, and strategies and tips I use daily in my coaching practice to help parents and teens elevate their families.
A 4-Step Process for a Year of Intention and Commitment:
“Set goals with purpose, take intentional action; your journey transforms when dreams meet determination.”
1. Reflect: Take stock of your wins, setbacks, and lessons learned from the past year.
2. Set Clear Intentions: Define your goals and commit to them, understanding that setbacks are part of the journey.
3. Seek Growth: Embrace challenges as opportunities for personal development and Growth.
4. Connect: Surround yourself with a support system, whether family, friends, or mentors, to help you navigate the ups and downs.
In the words of Maya Angelou, “My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style.”
As we enter 2024, my theme is clear: “Bet On Rahz.” I believe in the power of mindset and am equally committed to helping parents raise empowered teenagers and elevate their families.
In designing a year of zero limitations, remember – your journey is uniquely yours, and the power to thrive lies within you.
Here’s to an intentional and committed 2024!
